I discovered an amazing book community online (yes, I know I’m late on this). I found new friends. Met authors. Wrote my first book. Planning my second—a series. Pretty good, right? That’s what I thought. I’d like to take this opportunity to put the spotlight on a few people.
First of all, Kim. She found me online this spring, and we’ve quickly become good friends. The first thing I do when I wake up is tweet ‘morning’, and the last thing I often do is tell her ‘night.’ We basically talk non-stop, and most is related to books. Reading, writing, dreaming, plotting, revising… everything I do, she’s the first to know. Her endless advice and cheering helps me through anything. So, thank you, thank you, thank you, Kim, for having reached out to me. <3
Aljon, my other awesome critique partner. For sharing your thoughts on my projects, offering advice, helping me with those sentences that I struggled with to phrase nicely. For all our other conversations about life. My life is richer with you in it.
Susan Dennard and Sarah J. Maas, the most inspiring authors I’ve ever met. Thank you for sharing your journey and everything that has a place in it. You continue to inspire me every day to work on my stories, and to believe that I can.
Kelly (Live, Love, Read YA), for your amazing advice when I felt stuck, and for generally just kicking my ass to write. Thank you for letting me open the amazing Musings feature on your blog—it was an honour.
Aila and Jenny, for being amazing beta readers who keep talking to me with unwavering enthusiasm. You guys rock.
To Rachel. Thank you for all our conversations & hours spent at Waterstones Manchester. 2016 is going to be our year, no matter what.
Last but not least, the WaterWitch Babes. Though I’m not a member of their clan (they’re Susan Dennard’s street team!) I have gotten to know all of them and it has been an absolute joy. Thank you for everything.
There are a bunch of more awesome people I’ve gotten to know this year, authors, writers, readers and book bloggers.
If we talked regularly this year, chances are big you’re on my list of amazing people. I’m happy to have you in my life.
